22 steps to an outing (last Friday, which I forgot to mention)
1. Gets ready.
2. Cons father into giving a lift to RI.
3. The drive was botched. Ends up lost and lonely in big, scary RJC with too-tall college people and too little familiar faces.
4. Finds out handphone battery is running low. Freaks out. Calls Geoff.
5. Waits in terror till Geoff arrives. Rambles for several minutes out of pure relief and exasperation.
6. Begins exploration of RJC. Finds out minute details about the Raffles Players. Decides against the rush and brush of the crowded areas and heads to the quiet places such as the track.
7. Eng Hong calls to say that she is reaching. We return to the canteen to wait.
8. Eng Hong arrives after several minutes of waiting and people watching. Geoff needs to head back to RI to pass a letter to a teacher. We tag along in glee.
9. Is amused by RI's plastic grass. Spends several moments with Eng Hong petting and footing it while Geoff just sighs.
10. Cons Geoff into taking us on a tour of RI. Sneaks into the library. Smart Geoff asks permission to show us around. The fear of librarians dissipates.
11. Squeals for a moment over RI's collection of Singaporean poetry. Is jealous.
12. Headaches over RE projects. Too much numbers. Cannot concentrate.
13. Realizes that Nigel is in the library. Is momentarily stunned by the coincidence.
14. Against my wishes, Geoffrey goes on to alert Nigel of my presence.
15. Nigel looks up. Jaw drops. I wave.
16. Short conversation with Nigel to explain reason of being there. He doesn't get it, but that's fine. The poor chap goes back to studying.
17. We depart the library.
18. Notes RI's adoration for circles in its walls. Heads for Junction 8.
19. Quiet KFC lunch. Sips sprite. Squeals over Mika's CD from Eng Hong. Eng Hong and Sarah and Huda and Patty are the love.
20. Begins walk around J8. Is aimless, so we are led to random places like Popular, where we scoff at the assessment books. Eng Hong buys two.
21. Unable to get into Lust Caution because the cashier asks for ID. We continue the roundabout exploration.
22. We give up on J8. I have to head back to start on Mrs Tay's present. We depart.
